Born in Belgrade, 1976, Milakovic is a European artist of Italian citizenship, working and residing in Rome. After graduating from the Atelier of the Painter Etela Merc in Belgrade, she moved to Italy to continue her academic studies, first in Florence and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where she still works today.

In Milakovic's paintings there are powerful personal and introspective elements be it in the form of abstract landscapes and environmental fragments full of symbolic imprints or cities against rural landscapes with details of architectural elements that have, over time, evolved from the figurative to the abstract. Kristina Milakovic's painting is instinctive, driven by strong emotion and has a broad European scope. It does not fit into the canonical definitions of the discipline; it is innovative and captivating and thus publicly and critically acclaimed.

 

Milakovic has been exhibited widely across Europe and been the recipient of numerous awards; most recently at the Tiber Gallery, Roma, Arte Genova con Gall'Art di Roma, Genova, Ambienta- Zagabria Art Fair, Croazia,  Grand Art Fair, Milano,  CAB International Art Symposium in Jordan, Neoartgallery di Roma, Istanbul,  Isitituto di cultura egiziano, Roma, SyArt Festival, Fondazione, Sorrento, Venice Art Fair, Venice and The Roma Artrooms in London.
