A refined and intimate body of work where classical imagery dissolves into dreamlike visions — an exploration of time, memory, and perception, suspended between past and imagination.

Simone Piccioni

Born in Rome, Piccioni's practice is deeply rooted in the legacy of Renaissance and Baroque painting, shaped by the mastery of light and shadow and the precision of Italian craftsmanship. His move to Australia introduced a new dialogue with landscape, atmosphere, and cultural diversity, expanding his visual language into something both personal and universal.

Depth of nature | 81,3x91,5cm | Oil on canvas

Through a rigorous "dreamlike realism," Piccioni transforms complex interiors and still lifes into alchemical spaces - where history, symbolism, and contemporary vision converge.

Lost worlds | 75x50cm | Oil on canvas

Objects such as chessboards, jukeboxes, pinball machines, and classical sculptures serve as portals to bygone eras, evoking familial memories and shared moments between father and son, etched into canvas.

Una statua di vetro | 76x61cm | Oil on canvas | 2026

Finalist and winner of many awards in Australia, his works are held in prestigious collections, including those of the Prince of Qatar, the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano, and Bulgari collection.

Exhibition continues to 3 June 2026
